I don't think we will win. I think Portugal will knock us out - but either way you guys have just embarrassed yourselves all over again. You are utterly and undeniably humourless in your jealousy and loathing of all things English. I have read a hell of a lot of anti English jokes, anti English "satirical" pieces and what have you - and I'm unimpressed by the humour. Quite simply not funny. I can take a joke - but these jokes just aren't funny.
If John Motson lets his tongue slip and mentions 66 you guys all jump up and decide the entire English nation has said it. If Jamie Redknapp says "proud to be British" after an English victory you guys all jump up and decide the entire English nation has said it.

By cramming into bars and clubs in Scotland to watch anyone playing England and cheering fanatically for them. I'm not exaggerating when I say I see paralells between modern day Britain and 1980s Yugoslavia. I haven't worked out if your hatred is genuine or contrived. England might not win this tournument - but nobody is arrogantly promising success, whatever happens from this point we've done OK. If we beat Portugal we've done really well, if we get to the Final we've done superbly well, if we win the competition its dreamland time. You guys must be ****ting yourseves - we have nothing to lose, and we are as good as any team in this competition. We have the players to beat France (we proved it by leading them until the 91st minute), and I also think we can beat Czech Republic and Holland - and apart from that the last 8's gonna be nothing special - Portugal are tough because they're at home, Germany are nobodys (hopefully they'll get through instead of Holland), Denmark & Sweden are average.....we still might lose to these teams but the fact is we have a genuine chance to win Euro 2004.
Will Scotland ever qualify for a World Cup/European Championships again? I think you've got to seriously ask yourselves that. 6 years and counting since you last qualified.

You watched the match out of your own free choice, and also Scottish people are free to start their own broadcasting corporation if they so wished. They could broadcast their anti English version of events if they really wanted to. So its not my fault or any Englishmans fault that you watched the match.
Now I suspect your labouring towards the point that its from an English perspective. How absolutely fascinating! See when I turn the TV onto BBC and I see 2 Scotsman (Hansen and Strachan), a Dane (Schmiechal) and an Englishman (Lineker). I put it on channel 3 and I see an Englishman (Lynam), a Jamaican (Earle), an Irishman (Townsend) and a Scot (McCoist).
Thats more Scots than English in a competition England qualified for and Scotland didn't. And on top of that your a smaller country than us. If anything we should be complaining at YOU taking over OUR television. Try again to justify your childish hate.
I thik Wayne Rooney is a fantastic player. Real potentil to be a great - I also think England have a good team; Scholes-Lampard-Gerrard-Beckham is indeed an excellent quartet. If only we could get Owen firing on all cylinders we'd have a excellent side because our defence is also good Neville, Cole, Campbell and Terry is not classy but its certainly solid; James is off form and a bit dodgey so maybe our goalkeeper position is a bit dodgey. England DID prove they could beat the French the other week. If your beating a side for 60 minutes and fall at the final hurdle the proof is there that you COULD have won the game. Of course we lost the game on the night - but next time we play it could be a different story. We proved we can compete - there was no class gulf, there was no incessent French pressure; we just lost the game. The Dutch proved they can beat the Czech Republic, the Latvians proved they could get a draw against the Czech Republic. Don't be silly "webmaster" - you know what I'm getting at - in defeat England did salvage something - the knowledge that only a last minute collapse denied us a win against the best team in Europe. The logical conclusion is that we can realistically beat anyone in this competition and as a result we are serious contenders. I happen to believe the winner of Portugal/England will get to the Final and play the Czech Republic. I think we can win this thing - and I think that if you were to take off your tartan tinted sunglasses you would agree.

Why you hate us is a mystery to me. I can't be arsed to discuss History or Politics - but both of those are no reason to hate a country. So I'm not interested in you guys citing Historical/Political grievances because they're bunk. You need a reason to justify your hatred - because thats what it is. Its gone passed the stage of banter - and I'm surprised so many intelligent Scottish people fall into the anti English trap.

You don't get it do you??? Why should I wish success on our biggest rivals? Do you think that Arsenal were chearing on Chelsea's champions league run? Do you think that the English were chearing on the Germans against the Czech Republic? Of course you/they weren't. It's called rivalry and I wish no success for England EVER!! I think I speak for the majority if not all of the TSTA when I say "We do note hate E**lish people",it's football and football is built and marketed on rivalry. The rivalry goes deep for all of us, but it last only 90 mins....the rest is a pure wind-up. If you choose to take this site seriously then you really should lighten up.

I support Germany as my second team as a deliberate statement against Euro 96 style bigotry when the English gutter press hit rock bottom. Scottish gutter press hit rockbottom 3 years later - but thats another story.

Webmaster is right. Comments on here may seem close to the bone but its like boys talk behind the bike shed about fighting etc, mostly bluster and trying to be bigger than everyone else.
I know nearly everyone on this board and I can assure you that in real life away from the football, some are friends with English folk. It gets worse, some are even married and have relatives who are English. Whisper it, one is even ENGLISH!
