Did King Billy drink in the Torph?!

It was braught to my atention at the Torph after a few pints that King Billy stopped off in Midcalder back in the day and had a drink in the Torph and in the Black Bull?

I do know that back then Midcalder was the crossroads of the lowlands. Anyone wantng to head East - West, North - South would have to come through Midcalder at some point. The King Billy story dosent seem to be as pork pie as it sounds!

Is there any thruth in this and if so does this mean the huns bus may start leaving from one of Billys 'chossen' pubs?

I myself am confused? How can Mid Calder continually churn out illiterate young men in this fashion? It did not happen in my day. As soon as you can explain what the term "chossen" means, I may consider a reply...........

If he did, do you reckon that by making an anouncement that we may well get rid of half the Biggot fcuks that drink in the Tap Shop?
They can then drink in the Torph and celebrate in the fact that they are drinking in a pub where their British....sorry, Irish.........nope that's not right either, their Dutch, oh **** their great leader drank?

I very much doubt there is any truth in the rumour. K*ng B*lly actually HATED Scotland and the Scottish people.

By chosen(not chossen) i meant as in how 'they'(huns) would see it. I was also thinking along the lines of this may get the biggots out the boozer!

mabey ask andra marshall im sure he was just a nipper in 1690?!

Just incase, im not bringin this up to glorify king billy or be biggoted im just asking a simple question. If you find yourself angry at me asking the question then your the biggoted one?!

Where's the emoticon for chomp!!!!

And for your information, Andra Marshall was pulling his first pints in the Torphichen Arms in 1690, at that point it was a hotel. Indeed it is believed he told Billy to "remove yon hat wi the big feather ya woos" when he came through the door. This is why it is still affectionately known to real villagers as "The Hotel".
