Adopted Scots?

With all the talk of adopted Scots being eligable to play for the National Team (D Agathe, D Fernandez etc), what is the general consensous to the whole idea.

  1. Is it good for up and coming youngsters, considering the negative effect it has had on our domestic game?
  2. Is there any difference in playing a "Spaniard who has Scottish citizenship" than an "Englishman who's mum owned a Scottish Terrier"?
  3. Do you think a National team would lose it's identity by playing 11 foreigners?
  4. Or are you more extreme and think that only players who were born in Scotland (no if's or buts) should be eligable to pull on the Scotland Shirt?

My view's are Scots only - no if's or buts (see No4).

It maybe a bit extreme, but the way we are likely to be going with the inclusion of Agathe etc. We are likely to be following a team of complete 2nd rate foreigners who can't cut it with their own country, so therefore a Scot must be binned to make room for them.

I would also love to see the line up for the National Antemss They wouldn't know the "Flower of Scotland" if you were to grow one out their arsehole.

A bit extreme there Craigie boy, next you will be wanting only people born in Scotland to become members of the Tartan Army, wait a minute, that might not be such a bad thing, where was the BOY Wonder born?

It probably is a bit extreme Davy, it's probably my "bad side"  coming out due to the seemingly endless ways you can now play for any country you wish too.
SkySports had an article on Amoruso today, saying he would love to play for Scotland. Now I know some may laugh, but I thought Amoruso was a very good player........[watch the backlash]. Yes he was at times eratic, but I think Davy would agree that he would wish him back in a Rangers shirt?
Saying that, I do not wish to see him in a Scotland shirt. If it takes extreme measures to prevent this, then so be it.

Christ. I sound like the head of the National Front. I am in no way racsist. This is purely football and nothing else.

Will the real WebMaster please stand up!!

Boy Wonder was born in Edinburgh. He only spent about 8 years (Boab?) under the maple leaf.

If these new rules are enforced, international football will become glorified club football. You're meant to be representing your country ffs! Pitting the best country X has to offer against country Y. Current rules are about as flexible as it should be. There may be a case if someone becomes a citizen of their adopted country (emigrate to Oz, swear allegiance after 5 years and become a citizen with passport) but I think this could be exploited by those cheating, diving Spaniards and Italians who seem to hand out passports to every second South American.

I am 37 (and want to work in immigration)
