I am thinking of proposing a move to advance the club forward by the introduction of an online payment facility. By this, I mean that we can collect payment for Buses, Tickets and Merchandise etc online. This would prevent the prehistoric Money Tin, or Collection of monies on Match Day and be more convenient for those of us who can't/don't have the Tap Shop as a second home. I know not everyone in the TSTA has the internet....... (dinosaurs!!) But for those who have managed to keep up with a 15 year old technology that is older than the mobile phone (I think there is about 8 of us).......we can at least have the privilege and convenience of paying via the website. It will all be protected and no-one will have access to your account number. I am looking at options available (PayPal, WorldPay etc..) and would like to open this discussion to all members so that I can gather better feedback. If anyone has another avenue we can utilise, please don't hesitate to post on this thread.
e.g. Caz and SeveredHeed. There is no-way they can get to HQ to get there name on the Bus or Ticket notice board never mind pay for it. If the facility is available, then they could pay for their bus and ticket instantly and thus making life easier for the committee, by monies being collected quicker and more conveniently.
I use Paypal for ebay and despite many scare stories on various forums, haven't had any problems with it.
Paid my membership when I was across in February but to be honest sometimes seems like a hassle to get one of the guys to take the time to take the money. It's usually the weekend so I can understand folk not wanting the hassle of dealing with TSTA money then. Online payment would be ideal.

Likewise. The two most suitable companies are PayPal and NoChex. Both have no set-up fees, no monthly/annual subscriptions or no long-term contracts, and the buyer does NOT need to have a PayPal/NoChex account. Therefore it costs the Club nothing and can be terminated if we choose to. The fees are passed onto the customer. A small surcharge per transaction is how they collect their service charge. i.e. ----------------------------------------------- If I am buying my 2 pairs of cufflinks on this site using PayPal:
Cuff Links = £12.00 PayPal 3.4% + 0.20p = 0.61p Total Cost = £12.61 ----------------------------------------------- If I am buying my 2 pairs of cufflinks on this site using NoChex:
Cuff Links = £12.00 NoChex 2.9% + 0.20p = 0.54p Total Cost = £12.54 ----------------------------------------------- I personally would not mind the 61p or 54p surcharge as I would spend more on petrol driving down to HQ. Thoughts?
I am still reading up on it as there are about 70 companies we can use, but most charge a set-up fee and an annual charge. This is due to the online payments requiring a software install on our server and we are paying/renting the software. As we are not a profit making organisation these are a non starter.
I would also rather use a company that we all know/use. This gives the user piece of mind. Both PayPal and NoChex fit the bill nicely.
I already have a Paypal account, use it alot and have never had a problem. This would be really useful for me as living in deepest darkest e**land****e i currently have to rely on others to pay for me until i see them to pay it back. I am very grateful to them for doing this for me, but would much prefer it if they weren't put in the position were they felt they had to.
Well done Craig....what a star you are!!!!
