I see our rotund councillor proposed the petrol station at Deer Park be granted a license to sell alcohol, despite objections from the police. He said "This is a shop that sells petrol, to me that's key".
What????? Which particular community does it service? The upwardly mobile inhabitants of the dual carriageway?
It's a f u c k i n PETROL STATION. Alcohol + car = drink driving.
Is there a councillor left who deals with real issues? Youngsters flying through the streets of Mid Calder at breakneck speeds. A newsagents selling alcohol to teenagers. A street where mothers cannot let their children out because it's full of school run mothers who are determined little Timothy will not walk his own length, resulting in him being obese by the time he reaches High School.

We lost a court case a few months ago against BP the judge ruled that if the garage sells more non petrol goods than petrol then it was a shop that sold petrol not a petrol station that sells food etc.
This being the case he ruled in favour of BP.
This app came along with all the figures to prove it was a shop that sold petrol, if we had truned it down they would have won in court and cost the taxpayer a fortune in legal fees.
The board meeting before this one another garage was turned down as it sold more petrol than other goods.
We can turn these down but we will lose the court case and cost thousands a pop, if we can win them we will trun them down however it would be wrong of us to keep turning them down and costing a fortune each time.

Am I the only one that doesn't have a problem with this? Safeway sells petrol, but I don't feel the need to rush out and do a weekly shopping everytime I fill up there. And let's be perfectly honest. Can you imagine how much the garages will charge you for your average carry out? They charge an arm and a leg for a phucking mars bars nevermind a bottle of Millers!!
So heres the plan. No drink on the bus, but let's all stop at the Harthill Service Station for a Pee...........??
