Scotland will face Bulgaria and Japan in the Kirin Cup next month.
The three team tournament begins with Japan taking on Bulgaria, then Scotland meet Bulgaria in the Kobe Wing Stadium. The final match sees the hosts against Scotland in the Saitama Stadium.
There has been considerable speculation about Scotland's participation in the tournament in recent months, and today's formal announcement confirms the precise details. The Scotland squad will meet up on Monday 8 May, the day after the Scottish Premier League season finishes, for the long flight to Japan.
Walter Smith will name his squad later this month, but certain to be missing are the players from Heart of Midlothian - Craig Gordon, Andy Webster, Steven Pressley and Paul Hartley - who play in the Tennent's Scottish Cup Final, also on 13 May.
