One for all the aging punks out there. Went to see SLF in Naas on Thursday night, feckin brilliant! Can't believe it was about 20 years since I last played any off their stuff!!!!
All the old classics: Wasted Life, Tin Soldiers, Alternative Ulster, Bits of Kids, At The Edge and some newer material added in as well. Plus Bruce Foxton ex Jam on bass too! Excellent! Think they're playing Barrowland next week, get your ticket now!

Saw them on the Nobodies Hero Tour '81, Go for It Tour '82 and Now Then Tour '83. Unfortunately they have not released a decent track since 1994 (Flags & Emblems) and should maybe remain a touring act as apposed to a recording outfit?
As much as Bruce Foxton is an excellent bassist, he aint a patch on Ali.
I baught there album a few years ago, wasnt that impressed. Liked ulternative ulster though. Guess its one of those albums where you had to be there at the time?
Inflammable Material would certainly sound dated now, especially the cheap production used by SLF back then. Whereas "Now Then" still holds it's own today.
This is not an easy post to make so I'll limit myself to the official press release.
Bruce Foxton has announced that he is to leave Stiff Little Fingers with immediate effect. After 15 years of writing, recording and touring with SLF Bruce says it is time to move on and concentrate on other projects. 'The situation is amicable' says Foxton. 'I have enjoyed my time with Jake, Ian and Steve and will miss them. Naturally I wish them all continued success and hope to catch up with the boys during their spring tour." The band are currently talking with various people regarding replacing Bruce. The upcoming March tour will not be affected.
Obviously, we as well wish Bruce every success in everything he goes on to do in the future. He has been a fantastic asset to the band and we'll miss him as well.
