There has been a few emails doing the rounds with various headings that look like genuine emails from TapShop members. The emails have no real content although in some cases contain attachments. "Wrning.txt" "Warningo.txt" etc.... or asks questions regarding your account. In most the emails will be from either craig@tapshopta.com, davy@tapshopta.com, ian@tapshopta.com, or stevie@tapshopta.com. The reason that these addresses have been attacked is due to them being listed on the TSTA websites "contacts" page and are open to spam abuse. Like in all cases do not open any email attachments that you have not run through a virus checker or more importantly Do Not Open ".txt" attachments, EVER!! No one sends attachments in ".txt" format anymore (or shouldn't).
If you require a good and free virus scanner you can download one here: http://www.grisoft.com . It comes as a complete program with no trial limit or deadline.
Davy, Ian and Stevie. If you wish to minimise your spam mail then there is no easy answer that can be aquired for free. There are a lot of software available but I would only recomend one. http://www.cloudmark.com/products/ This is product from Cloudmark I've used it for a 4 or 5 months and pay £1.60 a month for it although your first 30 days are on a free trial. ie. I get an average of 200-300 emails every day, of which only 20-30 are relevent. Cloudmark automatically regognises 90% of the spam and deletes it before I need to and it is updated on a daily basis. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
IMPORTANT. There is no problem with the tapshopta.com email accounts. Davy, Ian and Stevie All email accounts that are listed on websites everywhere are always under attack from spam and until the governments actually realise that something needs to be done against these wasters we will all have to suffer in silence. I can remove your email addresses from the site and set you up new ones no problem. I refuse to give into the b'stards so I'm not budging. Cheers for your ears. Webmaster.
